At the beginning of February, Microsoft presented its new Bing powered by ChatGPT, OpenAI’s artificial intelligence technology that responds to requests from Internet users in the form of a discussion. This new Bing is not yet deployed for all users, but it is possible to request priority access through two main actions. We take stock!

How to access the new Bing faster with ChatGPT?

To get priority access to the new Bing, here are the steps to follow:

  1. Join the waiting list: click Join Waiting List. You must sign in with a Microsoft account. If you don’t have one, you can create an account in minutes with your email address (Gmail addresses are accepted). Once connected, you will receive an email to confirm that you are on the waiting list.
  2. Click on Access the new Bing faster : once you’ve joined the waitlist, Microsoft prompts you to take action to get priority access to its ChatGPT clone. The actions are as follows: set Bing as the default search engine, set Edge as the default browser, and download the Bing mobile app by logging into your account.

We prioritize those who have Bing and Edge as their default search engine and browser, along with the Bing Mobile app installed, to optimize the initial experience, said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of Microsoft.

Editor’s note: does this really play on priority, or is it just a golden opportunity to get more users on its applications? That is the question.

Are you already on the waiting list and nothing is happening?

Have you already joined the waiting list for the new Bing for several days? You still haven’t received an email to access the new search engine experience? In a tweet from February 15Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate vice president & Consumer chief marketing officer at Microsoft clarified that the new Bing would be open “to millions of people in the weeks to come”. We will therefore still have to be patient, but not for long.

We are currently in limited preview so that we can test, learn and improve. We are slowly removing people from the waiting list on a daily basis, explains Yusef Mehdi.

The new Bing is in preview, being tested with a limited group of people around the world. After a week of deployment, Microsoft has published its first report highlighting the positive points but also the improved points.

Demand is high and several million people are now on the waiting list. We therefore ask you for a little patience if you have just registered on the waiting list.

In the meantime, other alternatives exist…

To fill the wait, we suggest you test other search engines that have already made their ChatGPT clone available:

  • YouChat from the search engine You.com
  • NeevaAI from the Neeva search engine

What about Google? The search engine leader unveiled Bard only 1 day before the presentation of Microsoft’s new Bing. Bard is an equivalent to ChatGPT but Google hasn’t made it available to the general public yet.
